Dino Time: Plot
An animated film that doesn't insult kids' intelligence, isn't about shifting as much merchandise as possible and won't have parents hitting the booze in the middle - that's Dino Mom.Technically, as in terms of animation, Dino Mom hits above its weight. It's no Pixar of Dreamworks, or Disney, but nor is it churned out shovelware either. There is ability and care on show here, which extends to the characters, both humans and dinosaurs, too. The moral of the story, moms are a good thing, is simple and nicely done. The film might not stand up to repeat viewings but for a one-off treat, something the kids can be left to watch while parents do something else (Get drunk, maybe?), it's perfect.

The Rabbi's Cat: Plot
I really enjoyed this film. It's brilliantly drawn, charming, discusses real events from history, and touches on philosophy. It also takes its time, which is refreshing nowadays. Clearly a lot of work went into this piece of art, which doesn't attempt to be a money making blockbuster. It was neat to see another famous cartoon character make a cameo appearance midway through the film. I'd really like to see more films like this. 8/10. Great work.

And now my usual Lorem Ipsum to satisfy IMDb's ten line requirement: But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful.

On the Road: Plot
My hopes were high for this movie. With a cast like that and being an adaptation of one of the previous century's most famous books it can't be all bad, I thought. How wrong I was. All right, the film is not completely rubbish, the cinematography and the acting is good and sometimes even brilliant. That said the movie is still a waste of two and a half long hours and yes indeed those two and a half hours feels like three long days.

Despite the decent performances by the actors none of the characters are ever allowed to evolve. We never get a sense of how they are as persons or what they have at stake. There's nothing that makes the viewer care about the characters, except maybe for Dean Moriaty in the end. Here we get a glimpse of why he's so messed up but it in the last five minutes of the movie. All the other characters are portrayed very superficial, especially the women who are all portrayed as extreme stereotypes of distressed women, all the characters do is discuss on a quasi intellectual level, then have wild and crazy sex, which after you've seen it for the 117. time seems dull, and then they go their separate ways for no apparent reason. Then a new character is introduced, then another and then yet another. Most characters are on screen for less than five minutes which of course means that you as viewer don't get to care about them at all.

A former NCAA champion wrestler is paroled after 10 years in prison. Now, to save a friend's life, in a series of cage fights he must agree to do the impossible - lose.OK, It's not an epic, and it certainly could have some smoother edits, but as jaded as I can be after roughly 5000 movies I think that this is a very good film.

The Philly Kid (2012)

The Philly Kid (2012):Summary First remember the genre'. The story is well paced and shot nicely. They have resisted the urge to cut too fast, and this gives actors the chance to embrace a scene, making it believable. This is better than many big budget, big name parades that present themselves as quality but miss the mark. Fun,engaging and well acted,
Wes Chatham,Devon Sawa, Sarah Butler, and Adam Mervis do a lot to develop believable and vulnerable characters within the constraints of a compact but well written script. I look forward to following their promising careers. Butler in particular is need that one big opportunity and she'll light up the screen.
Sarah Butler deserves kudos for being extremely endearing quickly and adding real weight to the tension within the story. Devon Sawa, a winner. He just is. I've always been Neal McDonough fan and he has the talent and charisma that makes the viewer hope for more screen time.

After Dark has been
busy releasing a full slate of genre fare,

Dark Action lineup which dropped no fewer than four new movies inMay.
They each had a brief theatrical run are now available on VOD. Read on below to hear our thoughts on
movies featuring Dolph Lundgren, Scott Adkins, Jim Caviezel and more.

Martial artist Scott Adkins stars in "El Gringo" as a popular action staple, the lone man with a big bag o' money. Wandering into a small Mexican town, it's not long before an endless wave of cartoon bad guys puts a bounty on his head. He responds with fists and feet. And there's your movie,

Eduardo Rodriguez opts for spaghetti western themes and hoary character archetypes that simply reveal he's mistaken Robert Rodriguez for Sergio Leone. Freeze frames highlight colorful character names,
