Set in 1987 Los Angeles, Drew and Sherrie are two young people chasing their dreams in the big city. When they meet, it's love at first sight, though their romance will face a series of challenges.
THE ACTING: One of the main reasons why I was so looking forward to see Rock of Ages is because of Tom Cruise. I thought he did fantastic playing the rock singer, Stacee Jaxx. This time, Tom Cruise wasn't being his regular self; he was being like an actual singer for a rock band. I think this is one of his best performances of his career.

Rock of Ages:Summary Rock of Ages takes place in 1987, and follows a girl from a small Midwestern town, Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) and a boy from the big city, Drew Boley (Diego Boneta), who meet in Hollywood while they are pursuing their dreams. While at Hollywood,
Sherrie gets a job at the Bourbon Room, a nightclub run by two guys (Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin). They are going to be showing Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) and his band, "Arsenal" to perform at the place. While this is happening, they – along with other characters in the movie – do covers of '80s rock music.
Rock of Ages:Plot I was excited while going into Rock of Ages. Not only because Tom Cruise stars in this, but because it looks like it would be a fun movie-watching experience, and that's what really good musicals – like Grease or the 2007 version of Hairspray - intend to be. Maybe musicals don't have to have a good story to make it great, but only just a way to make the audience to have fun, and to be entertained by them.

I didn't go into Rock of Ages expecting it be the best musical like Grease. I just went in expecting to have a great time at the theater, and that's what I got. Although it wasn't a perfect movie, it was still a very good experience at the theater.

The musical numbers – which are covers of some of the best rock songs of the 1980s – they were first-rate. I thought they were added at the right place at the right time, and all the actors did an excellent job singing and dancing to whatever song they covered. Most of them were well-choreographed and they were very entertaining to watch. The story to Rock of Ages, although it isn't really strong, it isn't bad either. It was well-paced and easy to follow. Yes, it does become rather predictable at the end.
